Advent Blog – Day 20

One of the first things guests do when they arrive is take off coats & shoes. As usual, the hall storage is fine for 4 people but tight for 8.
Guests typically need 2 types of storage for clothes, some hanging space and a flat surface on which to place a suitcase.
A Jam Packed Hall Cupboard
There isn’t hanging space in each room so the extra coats go the hall cupboard. That is normally full with our coats though (I admit we have more than one coat each as we cater for different weather conditions and smart v casual, etc.)
My Planned Guest Hanging Space is Otherwise Occupied
We have a small hanging rail in a cupboard in the office that I planned to be for guests clothes. The trouble is my husband finds this useful to hang sports clothes.
A Temporary Shuffle
Making room therefore involves relocating coats & sports gear up to my wardrobe.
This might also be another good opportunity to think through how often I actually wear some of my jackets & coats.
This is another case of Time Share Space, moving things around temporarily to cope with guests.
